Quip Shed Comedy continues to host its monthly comedy gig at Linden House in Hammersmith on the first Thursday of every month.
For our February show, we have an incredible line-up, featuring Josh Weller, Lily Phillips, host Lyle Barke, and headliner Rhys James!
Our opener, Josh Weller, has a high energy brand of cleverly self-deprecating stand-up which landed him on pro bills after just one year on the circuit. In addition to his live comedy work, Josh has developed a loyal fanbase for his online content, which includes sketches, live pub quizzes, professional trolling, animated stand-up comedy shorts, character work, and more. In 2020, he was included in Twitter’s Valentine’s Campaign, featured on billboards across the US and UK.
Josh recently appeared in an episode of BBC’s Life Lessons with Alfie Brown and his darkly comic graphic novel, Die Already, was published by CollegeHumor.
Returning to London after a sell out Edinburgh run, Lily Phillips, is one of the most exciting up and coming voices in comedy in the UK. She is BBC New Comedy Award Finalist 2021, Runner Up at the 2019 Leicester Square New Comedian of the Year, Funny Women Finalist 2018, and was a part of prestigious Pleasance Comedy Reserve at the 2019 Edinburgh Fringe Festival.
She is a series regular on The Stand Up Sketch Show, and other TV credits include Period Dramas (BBC3), The Joy Of Missing Out (All4), The Fake Podcast show (E4) and Comedy Central Live.
Our headliner, Rhys James, began performing in 2009 in student competitions such as Comedy Central’s Funniest Student in 2010 and Chortle’s Student Comedy Award. He made his Edinburgh debut as a performer for The Pleasance Comedy Reserve in 2010, and again in 2012 as a performer in AAA- Stand Up. He was also a finalist in the Laughing Boy New Act Competition and placed 3rd in 'Comedy Central's Funniest Student'.
He has appeared on Live At The Apollo, Mock the Week, Russell Howard's Stand Up Central, Roast Battle, @elevenish, Virtually Famous and Sweat the Small Stuff.
He has had two BBC Radio 4 series and performed six solo shows at the Edinburgh Festival to sell-out crowds and critical acclaim, with his show, ‘Snitch’, being one of the best reviewed comedy shows at the festival.
He is also known for his prolific Twitter feed which has been recommended in The Telegraph, The Sun, Huffington Post, The Poke and The Gentleman’s Journal, among others.
